Loose Ends Loose Ends is very exciting as the show includes Red Ken and Pink Julian (Clary), two people I have massive admiration for, simply on the basis that they both speak their minds. They both proved to be very charming, as does host Clive Anderson, Herbaliser, Emma Freud et al. Afterwards in The George pub it almost seemed surreal and certainly very humbling to be sat with such brilliant brains. Mind you, Clive Anderson's assertion on my introduction, that my father had been a successful footballer for Liverpool, Everton and Tranmere wasn't exactly spot on. My father failed at football and moved on quickly to less challenging climes. Having said that I really enjoyed my day’s hob nobbing and returned to the hotel happily. Happy apart from when I got back there, the place was full of Billy Idol fans waiting for his appearance at Hyde Park’s Hard Rock Cafe Calling concert. Please Kill me! Earlier on sadly, Ken Livingstone had told me that despite organising the event, he wasn't invited to Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations and laughed heartily when I reminded him that new London Mayor, Boris Johnson, and the person who was to receive Mandela, had been part of the FCS (Federation of Conservative Students) that so proudly wore their Hang Mandela badges in the 80's. Oh the irony… Click here to read the next blog entry. Click here to see a full list of Paul's blogs. |
